CHAPTER 4: MENTAL HEALING IN ANCIENT TIMES

Throughout the ages, men of all nations have somehow believed that somewhere there resided a healing power, from which alleviation of all human suffering would follow. In the early history, the power of secretly influencing people for evil, good including healing of sick was possessed by the priests and holy-men, who were supposed to perform mysterious rites, ceremonies. The miraculous healing you hear about at various shrines uses the one (universal) power resident in the subconscious mind. Many may proclaim that healing is due to their own theory but in reality, it is due to the imagination and blind faith, which acts on the subconscious mind, releasing the healing power. There is only one process of healing and that is Faith. There is only one healing power, namely, your subconscious mind. Know that the faith is like a seed planted in the ground; it grows after its kind. Plant the idea (seed) in your mind, water and fertilize it with the expectancy, and it will manifest. Whether the object of your faith is real or false, you will get results. Your subconscious mind responds to the thought in your mind. All disease originates in mind. Nothing appears on your body unless there is a mental pattern corresponding to it. Look upon faith as a thought in your mind, and that will suffice.

"Frequently remind yourself that the healing power is in your own subconscious mind."
